Terms of use
Terms and conditions for carriage and ordering services, Something Random Enterprises Ltd version 01-2021. They apply to all carriage and the performance of other services by the company.
Ordering through Buy For Me
Checking out with us is an offer for us to purchase goods on your behalf, binding once we accept it. Buy For Me orders are placed after a deposit of 50% of the total estimated invoice. We do not place bids on auction websites, and we may decline an order where the product is unavailable, payment is not authorized, or a price is listed in error.
Pricing and payment
Prices are quoted in local currency and accepted in US Dollars or Kenya Shillings. You are charged for shipping when we deliver to your doorstep or when you collect from the Karen office. We charge on either the actual weight of the goods or the volumetric weight of the shipment, whichever is higher, using the industry standard volumetric conversion.
Dangerous goods and security
We do not carry goods that are too dangerous to ship by airfreight under ICAO, FAA, IATA or Kenyan Civil Aviation rules, and we never ship weapons, munitions, or accessories to them. Some dangerous goods are accepted at our discretion where they comply with the applicable regulations. Shipments may be screened by x-ray or explosive trace detection, and may be opened and examined in transit.
Customs clearance
You appoint us as your agent solely for the purpose of clearing and entering the shipment through customs. We endeavor to expedite all clearance formalities, but we are not liable for delays caused by customs officers or other governmental authorities. You certify that the information you give us about your goods is true and correct.
Delivery of your shipment
All goods must reach our US and UK facilities by courier or registered mail with signed confirmation. Ordinarily within two weeks of receiving goods at our facility. Email notification with invoice on arrival in Kenya, with two further reminders within 14 days, after which 16 days to collect after the notification window before demurrage applies. After 30 days uncollected goods are subject to disposal (terms v01-2021).
Claims
Identify and document loss or damage within 24 hours of delivery; investigations may take up to 40 days. Your products may be repacked or removed from their original packaging to enable safe transport, and we are not liable for cosmetic damage to packaging.
Extent of our liability
Without protection, liability is limited to $10 per kilogram, capped at $100 per shipment (terms v01-2021). We also offer full insurance for 10 percent of the value of goods, which you declare when you ship to us. We are not liable for used items purchased or sent from any platform.
